Thank you -
a message from the
police

The police would like to thank the many kind residents who dropped off cakes, cookies, biscuits and sweets for them to snack on while on duty during the festive  season. It was really appreciated.

Trouble at
Vaal Marina

During the first week in January there were demonstrations, almost riots at Mamelo the township bordering on Vaal Marina.
The population was demonstrating against poor service delivery in the area. A resident in the area remarked that he was not surprised. After record rainfalls the area is underwater and the roads are in a shocking condition. It  appears that the main reason for protesting is for promised housing  that has not materialised.
These residents of the Midvaal Municipality have joined the many in the country who are making it known that the local authorities are not fulfilling their obligations, particularly to the lower income groups.
