That foolish new wall at Vaaldam
It is amazing how so many newspapers get reports wrong on the 1st of April. Our report on the new wall was no exception. It did, however, raise an eyebrow or two and a number of serious complaints, even down at Pennant Nine Yacht Club who bemoaned the fact that their cruising waters would be curtailed.
Apologies to Water Affairs. Suppose the editorial division should have checked the facts with the department first.
A clue to the inaccuracy might have been that the Hydrographic Office only produce sailing charts, no, never a map.
Suggestions for a real howler next year are most welcome. Till next April then.

Ratepayers
association to be formed
It was agreed at the residents against crime meeting on on Thursday the 16th of April that a Residence Association must be formed. Not only will this body be involved with acting to prevent crime in Deneysville, but as a body, represent residents get service and delivery from Metsimaholo in our town.
It is time that the council s shown that they cannot just ignore the Deneysville ward which pays its taxes and receives very little service. The ANC councillor for this ward refuses to talk to, or act on behalf of Deneysville as she says that they did not vote for her.
This ridiculous situation must end and it is time residents rise out of their apathy and fight for their rights from a council generally ignoring Deneysville.
